After a short return home, Eric returned to Seattle via the scenic Coast Starlight Amtrak train service. First, the Southern California Coaster traveled from Solana Beach (just north of Del Mar) to Los Angeles Union Station. The Coast Starlight train left Los Angeles, quickly found the Pacific Ocean, and followed the coastline through Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and to San Francisco. From San Francisco, the Coast Starlight cut inland for stunning scenic views of steep mountains, lush farmlands, rushing rivers, and snow-covered forests. After crossing three states (California, Oregon, and Washington), the Coast Starlight ends its journey in the Emerald City, Seattle.
